These oat cups are one of those sweet desserts that will delight any chocoholic. Thanks to their perfect flavour, they are an ideal Christmas treat. The base is an oat cup with nuts packed with creamy chocolate filling. And, of course, there’s a crunchy hazelnut in the filling as a surprise.
Ingredients for the cups:
- 60 g nuts (we used a mix of natural nuts)
- 40 g oat flakes
- 40 g honey
- 20 g coconut oil
- 1 scoop of vanilla protein
- 1 – 2 tablespoons of water (as required)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon

- 70 g dark chocolate
- 70 g canned coconut milk (solid part)
- 8 hazelnuts

Method:
Start by preparing the oat cups. Finely grind the oats and nuts. Add the protein, cinnamon, honey and coconut oil. Mix everything thoroughly, it should form a solid mixture. If it seems too dry, add 1-2 tablespoons of water. The dough should not be crumbly or too sticky. Divide the resulting mixture into 8 equal pieces. Place each of them in a separate silicone muffin tin and using moistened fingers, press the batter into the bottom and up the edges to form cups. Place them in an oven preheated to 170 °C and bake until golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Bring the solid part of the coconut milk to a boil and pour it boiling into a bowl with chocolate pieces. Let the mixture stand for a minute and then stir thoroughly. Let the baked cups cool completely. Place a hazelnut in each cup and pour the prepared chocolate cream over it.
Let the cups set in the fridge for a few hours and then serve.
Our tip: Nut butter lovers can add a small teaspoon of peanut, cashew or almond spread to the bottom of the cup instead of hazelnut.
