Ingredients for Dumplings:
- 250 g wholemeal spelt flour
- 170 ml water
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
Other Ingredients:
- 300 g sauerkraut
- 70 g bacon/quality ham
- 1 larger onion
- salt to taste
- olive oil cooking spray

Directions:
First, sweat the finely chopped onion with a little olive oil until translucent. Add sauerkraut (if it is too sour, wash it first under running water), add some water and let it simmer until soft, for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, let’s start preparing dumplings. Mix the flour with salt, egg and water. If the dough is too thick, add some water, if it is watery, add more flour. Use potato dumplings maker (haluškovač) to form a small potato dumplings above the large pot. Cook in salted boiling water. When floating on the surface, take out the dumplings and mix them with the sauerkraut. Serve dumplings with roasted bacon or quality ham. Enjoy your meal!
