Fitness Recipe: Protein Banana Bread

Banana bread is a popular delicacy that almost everyone has tried to bake at home. It is a clever way to use overripe bananas and turn them into a delicacy. In today’s recipe, we also decided to add protein and 0% fat Greek yogurt to increase the amount of protein and turn this “treat” into a balanced delicacy that you can have with coffee. Will you try baking it too?

Directions:

Take 2 bananas (leave one aside for now) and blend them together with the eggs until smooth. Then add Greek yogurt, almond butter, vanilla extract and mix thoroughly to get the ingredients nicely incorporated. Then add sifted flour, protein, coconut sugar, cinnamon and baking powder to the mixture. Mix thoroughly again. Finally, add coarsely chopped pecans and ⅔ of chopped dark chocolate or chocolate drops to the dough. Leave some of the chocolate aside. Take a rectangular tin, line it with baking paper or spray with oil spray and pour the mixture into it. Cut the remaining banana lengthwise and place it on top of the dough. Then sprinkle with the remaining chocolate.

Put the dough in the oven preheated to 180 °C and bake for about 45-55 minutes. To find out if the bread is done, use a wooden stick. The dough should not stick to the stick if the bread is done. Be sure to allow it to cool before serving. Enjoy your meal!

Our tip: Tastes the best together with our cocoa drink BIO Cocoa & Maca Drink.

A protein bread can be a great snack, breakfast or dessert. If you would like to make it part of a more complex meal, we recommend serving it with cottage cheese and lightly drizzled with some nut butter.
